Be An Expert

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

By Jeffrey Solochek In order to make it in todays business world you have to become an expert in whatever it is you are selling. One of my friends, Craig S., said to me a few weeks ago Jeff first you are selling computer parts, then software and now movies and each time no matter what you are dealing with you know everything about that product, How do you do that? If you are dealing in cosmetics or bathroom accessories or whatever you must learn everything there is to know about your products, you have to become an expert. Sales is about educating people, you have to educate your customers in the products you are selling. About 10 years ago I had bought a lot of software that Microsoft had donated to a charity. This software was older versions of Microsoft Office, MS Works, MS Windows, etc..At first nobody wanted this product they all wanted only the latest and greatest. I then called Microsoft to find out what could be done with this older software. I learned that within 90 days of the date of purchase that the End User could get a free upgrade to the latest and greatest. The only cost would be Shipping with Airborne Express which is overnight shipping I then had to educate my customersabout what I had found out. I launched a big dvefrtising campaign on TV, Radio and newspapers offering MS Office for $199, the MSRP was $799. When someone called or came in I told them this was an older version but if you take your receipt and fax it to Microsoft you will be overnighted a FREE upgrade for the cost of shipping. This was like making an extra $600. I then sold thousand of this older MS Product retail plus over10,000 were sold wholesale. I originally bought the MS Office, version 1.6, for only $15 each. I was selling them for $65 wholesale and $199 retail but I showed my wholesale customers where they were saving almost $400 Dealer cost from distribution was almost $500 and I showed my retail customers where waiting a day for an upgrade was saving them almost $600. MS Sen t me a nasty letter that year saying I cost them over $5 million in lost sales but the reality is I got them registered users who would buy upgrades and other products. Some of these customers would have endud up buying someone elses office suite because they didnt want to spend almost $800. I turned those people into MS Customers. If you educate them the sales will be there You know all those junk emails you get? The ones that a lot of people are calling SPAM? I save all those emails because if the ad copy got my attention then its something I can use to get the attention of my customers and also I figure they have to be buying their products from somebody so why shouldnt it be me. A few years ago I tried to partner up with somebody who at the time I thought was so much like me that wed compliment each other. I could cover his weakenesses and he would cover mine. Building on each others strengths. Jeffrey has over 2 decades experience in the business world. Al Qaeda Listens as Pope Endears and Challenges Muslim World

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

By Paul Davis Removing his shoes and standing in silent prayer beside a Muslim cleric inside Istanbul’s Blue Mosque, Pope Benedict XVI created an indelible image of his willingness to open a dialogue with the Islamic world. At the same time, the pope did not back away from his suggestion, made two months ago during a lecture at Germany’s Regensburg University, that Islam had a problem with violence. (Tom Hundley, Chicago Tribune foreign correspondent) The Pope who previously angered the Islamic world by quoting a 14th Century Byzantine emperor who said that most of the Prophet Mohammad’s contributions to religion were “evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.” showed off his diplomacy skills in Turkey and thereby won the hearts of those who previously fought him. During his four-day stay in Turkey the pope avoided direct references to Islam, but his message was consistent: “Above all, we wish to affirm that killing innocent people in God’s name is an offense against him and against human dignity,” the pope said in a joint declaration with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, leader of the Greek Orthodox church. The Pope continued to pursue religious equality and reciprocity globally, urging the Muslim world to allow Christians freedom of religious expression and the right to build churches in Islamic lands. Minorities in majority Muslim nations have basic human rights too and should be afforded religious freedoms like the rest. “I think the best index of the success of the trip is that it provoked a response from Al Qaeda,” said Rev. John Wauck, a professor at the Santa Croce Pontifical University in Rome. “That means it bothered them.” A message from Al Qaeda denouncing the pope’s visit as a “crusader campaign” against Islam and an attempt to “extinguish the burning ember of Islam” in Turkey appeared on several militant Islamic Web sites. “Al Qaeda doesn’t want to see reconciliation. They want to see inter-religious conflict,” Wauck said. “Their response showed that whatever the pope is doing, it’s working.” The moment that defined the pope’s message was the simple act of standing side-by-side in prayer with the grand mufti of Istanbul, a moment that was replayed on evening news broadcasts and front pages around the world. “The image you’re left with is that the pope is not hostile to Muslims. It made clear that whatever disagreements he may have theologically and intellectually with Islam, he is not anti-Muslim,” Wauck said. The pope’s approach to a dialogue with Islam has been carefully calculated, according to George Weigel, a Catholic commentator and senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington. “The pope knew exactly what he was doing [in his Regensburg lecture],” Weigel said. “He decided that it was time to put a challenge to the Islamic world that only he, as pope, could put.” “The congenial pope,” declared an editorial in Hurriyet, one of Turkey’s leading newspapers. The rest of the Turkish media have been similarly charmed. “He came here with a lot of baggage, and I didn’t know whether he would be able to overcome that,” said Binnaz Toprak, a political scientist at Istanbul’s Bogazici University. “But in the end the pope presented himself not only as a religious leader, but also a diplomat,” Toprak said. “The Turkish public will be pleased that we made a nice show of Islamic tolerance and Turkish hospitality, and [the pope] gave an image to the world that he is in favor of dialogue.” And so too should the rest of the world be in favor of religious dialogue. Though we may have our religious differences, certainly there is room for tolerance and dialogue. We can disagree without being disagreeable. Let us love one another and learn to live together peaceably despite our differences. Keep listening Al Qaeda! You just might learn something about the unconditional love of God, heart of the Father in heaven, and how to build bridges with humanity on earth. God is not a killer; He’s a life giver. How To Lose Love Handles - 4 Steps To Success

Monday, August 27th, 2007

By Brodie Heinrichsen If you are reading this article you are like many others in looking for how to lose love handles. I’m sure you have spent countless hours watching the infomercials prey on your desperation. Machine after machine telling you this is the way to go, just send me a bazillion dollars this easy to use machine will burn your fat and slim your waist. Then of course they have a fitness model and a body builder come on and swear up and down that they used this certain machine to build their sculpted body. My question is if these people aren’t even breaking a sweat, how are they burning fat and calories? To tell you the truth the only way you are going to eliminate the love handles are through will power. You are going to have to set goals and start with a firm mindset. Losing weight is like making money, at first you wont see that great of a result, but as time goes on you will slowly and then rapidly see the fruits of your hard work. There are a few easy steps. Step 1. Look at food labels: You want to try and avoid certain kinds of fat. The fats you want to avoid are saturated fat and trans fatty acids. How to avoid them? Well you will find saturated fats in dairy and meat while trans fatty acids can be found in foods with hydrogenated oils. Step 2 Cardio: This is pretty basic exercise, running, walking, riding a bike, playing a spot such as basket ball, soccer, baseball, racquetball, tennis. There are so many different ways of acquiring a good sturdy cardio workout. Now please don’t get discouraged, I’m not saying get out there and kill yourself doing cardio, just add to and increase in small amounts of your normal cardio. Find some free time during your day and walk around the block, or start your morning or evening with a light jog. Do what is comfortable to you and as you start building your body you will be able to increase your cardio. Step 3 Train your abdominals: What this will do is strengthen the muscles under the fat. With increased abdominal strength will come increased circulation and will aid in burning the fat directly. Step 4: Stay Focused: The key element in losing weight is to stay focused on your goals. Keep that mindset and you will quickly burn off the fat and shape your body. Remember, cheating on your diet just a little bit can set back all the work you have accomplished. Please remember that it is very important to stick to the basics. Weight lifting, burn more calories then you consume, eat healthy and natural foods, drink water, perform in high intensity cardio, eat 5-6 small meals per day. Following these basics will set you on the right track to building the firm physique you have always dreamed of having. There will always be roadblocks that will need to be overcome. If you are looking to not exercise and are looking for a lose weight quick supplement or pill then you are setting your self up to fail right off the bat. Stick to your program and you will succeed in what you do. Mobile Phone Deals- Stimulating the Mobile Phone Revolution

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Deshawn_Jon]Deshawn Jon The modern UK is becoming more and more of a saturated business market with each passing day. The obvious reason to this is that it has passed its time of becoming an open market that invites a lot of avenues of business to it. The best that a retailer can do is to come up with the most innovative and the most alluring ideas that could tempt the commoners towards buying a specific product. Perhaps this has happened with a product like mobile phones that has seen a lot of criticism, popularity and a lot of business churning on its name. But it takes a lot more to keep the business rolling. Hence, the retailers have devised some excellent money minting schemes that could stimulate a user to buy a mobile phone and the trick has worked wonders too. We are talking about the risky and the apprehensive way of offering mobile phone deals to the consumers. Look at the amount of profitability that an ordinary user can enjoy in relation to these mobile phone deals. Actually, these deals have come forth in a way to make sure that the users shouldn’t feel that they are being ousted by these cunning retailers. So the service providers in collaboration with the mobile phone manufacturers crafted the concept of offering mobile phone deals to the consumers. The deal may consist of discounted talk time, free calling minutes to a particular destination, free text messages, discounted calling minutes and so on. And if you are really lucky, then you can as well be given a brand new mobile phone, absolutely free along with the whole offer. In all, it becomes really lucrative and it looks really alluring to the consumers. So, the mobile phone deals have indeed simplified the manner in which mobile phones were sold. The contract mobile phone deals have surely accelerated the growth of mobile phone market in an incredible manner. We at [http://www.bestcontractmobilephonedeals.co.uk/]Mobile Phone Deals are offered free latest handsets as a part of contract like [http://www.bestcontractmobilephonedeals.co.uk/12monthfreelinerental.asp]12 Months Free Line Rental mobile phone deals with lots of offers and free gifts. 10 Great Settling In Tips For Your First Day In A New Home

Friday, August 24th, 2007

By Aaron Brooks Moving is an emotional moment. Sad and happy go hand in hand. And even the most experienced of movers admit to being disturbed at leaving one home and moving into the next. Human beings connect with others and form bonds of love and hate. So, when the bonds are broken then a feeling of uncertainty and sadness creeps in. To move, one needs courage and plenty of patience. Moving into a new place has to be a team effort. So, involve the whole family and give everyone to do lists and plenty of hugs and kisses. Here are a few great tips for your first day in a new home: 1. Let day one be a picnic day. Pack a hamper from the nearest bakery or deli and buy plenty of bottled drinks. Spread a rug in the middle of the new home and have a great picnic-meal and, in the evening, just plan on ordering in pizza. Save your self the bother of cooking and running out to buy groceries. 2. To ease moving blues plan on unpacking the kitchen and the kids rooms before anyone elses. Kids are more settled in their own beds around their own things and a kitchen always plays a big role in family lives. The whistle of a kettle or ping of a microwave gives the feeling of home. 3. If you have pets then try and make the house pet safe. Until all movers leave keep the pets safe in their crates along with their toys, fresh water, and a few treats. 4. Ask movers to set down boxes room wise this will ease unpacking and be sure to record breakages and such on the inventory and try and preserve the boxes as well as take pictures if possible. These will help when making a claim. 5. Make arrangements to offer the movers a few sandwiches and either tea or cocoa. They will be most appreciative at your thoughtfulness. 6. Ensure that the utilities like the gas, water, and electricity are all turned on. 7. Unpack the essentials bag containingemergency kit, blanket, toilet items, towels, torch, toys, and books first. 8. Have a small cheers to our new home ceremony: put up a chime, plant a tree or bush, take a walk through the new house and say hello I am here. Although this may seem silly to adults children love such things. If you have a dog take him or her around the new home and let the dog sniff all the new smells. 9. Go and introduce yourself to the new neighbors. Let them know you have come. 10. Take a family picture in the new home or garden as a memory of the day you arrived. Help you children settle in by talking to them about the move and how even you are apprehensive. Help them share their fears and thoughts. On the first night spend more time with them at bed time and if need be organize a family sleep over in the living room. The excitement of a night together will erase all fears and tears. Tell stories, sing songs, and let the warmth of your love for one another ease all moving pains. Make the move a smooth transition and soon the family will settle in and form new bonds of friendship. Animal Stepping Stool: Elephant Design

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

By Kara Kelso There is nothing more special than a hand created gift for a child. Designs by de’Maison may just have the gift you are looking for. I must say this first - WOW! I mean really, wow. I’m just more than impressed overall with Sue Mulvey of Designs by de’Maison. Not only was the customer service and communication fantastic, but the product is something to be remembered. It was less 2 weeks from the time I ‘ordered’ the step stool until I received it in the mail. While in some cases this may seem a long time, for the detail involved in the creation of this product it was actually very good time. It was very obvious this item had just been created….when we opened the box we could smell the fresh paint! The kids immediately took to it and were exited to get a special gift like this. In our kitchen we have had to use little chairs so the kids could help out or do anything for themselves. Not an ideal situation since chairs can tip (especially plastic child size ones). I had mentioned this to Sue, and she included a nice note that stated “now you won’t have to use a chair!”. Very cute, and an nice personal touch! It was amazing she remembered me saying that since I had forgot I said it. As for the detail on the stepping stool - it was absolutely amazing. For the most part the top “stepping” part is like a normal step stool, although there is a few slight curves on the edges to add life to the design. Handpainted on the top is an elephant with a cute pink bow and bird sitting on top. Since I can’t paint at all, such detail in a picture always impresses me! The legs and underside are painted white, and attached to the legs is padding. The padding prevents the wood from scratching up my floor, and keeps it from sliding. A thoughtful extra touch! Formula For A Great Wedding Speech

Monday, August 20th, 2007

By Peter Fisher I’ve been fortunate just recently in seeing both my daughters get married to good men. The only thing was it raised two issues: does this mean I’ll become a grandfather (heck at 56 I’m too young - grandfathers are old aren’t they?) and I would have to give two wedding speeches! So here’s my formula for a great wedding speech: 1. You must want to do it; 2. You must prepare your wedding speech very well; 3. You must prepare yourself very well and 4. You must make sure you enjoy it. So it’s quite straightforward really; just 4 easy steps that anyone can follow. 1. I really did want to do it; I relished the challenge of preparing something from the heart that would be memorable for my daughters and entertaining for the gathered family and friends. 2. Preparing the wedding speech well is key to your whole success as a wedding speaker. As I was ‘Father of the Bride’it would fall to me to speak first after which I could relax and see how well the other speakers would get on. There is a formula for a great wedding speech which if followed makes everything so much easier. * Introduce yourself and the other parents and welcome family and friends of both sides. * A couple of mild humorous references to your daughter’s childhood and teenage years. * Say how proud you are of her and her choice of husband. * Make a joke or two at his expense. * Offer some worldly advice about marriage, being experienced in these matters. * Give some serious thoughts or a prayer for their future together. * Propose the toast to the happy couple then hand on quickly to the next speaker. 3. Prepare yourself well by writing out your speech and practising often. The best way to practise a wedding speech is to read it aloud in front of the mirror until you feel comfortable with the words. When you feel a need to change a word or two - do so! You’ll soon feel it becoming a natural flow and you will be able to memorise it easily. But take a copy with you! 4. Enjoy it - it’s your daughters big day, something to be proud of so savour the day and lock it in your memory. Follow the 4 easy steps and you have the formula for a great weeding speech. You can see the full text of my wedding speeches, starting with wedding speech one by clicking Wedding Speech One. Good luck! If you need help with other public speaking events visit my website. Los Angeles Personal Injury Attorney Fees

Monday, August 20th, 2007

By Kevin Stith Personal injury law is one of the most important laws in the United States. There are many personal injury attorneys found all over U.S. Los Angeles also has a number of attorneys dealing with personal injury cases. Since every state of the U.S. has different laws, the fees charged by attorneys also differ. Personal injury attorneys in Los Angeles have tremendous work experience and the fees charged are more or less the same. Most Los Angeles personal injury attorney fees are based on the contingency fee system. Almost all personal injury attorneys in Los Angeles follow the “no win, no fee” system. This is the main offer by attorneys who can also be called contingency attorneys. The initial consultations provided by personal injury attorneys are free of cost and they charge fees to their clients only if the cases have a favorable and predictable result. All personal injury cases involve compensation as these cases include accidents, medical malpractices and wrongful deaths. Los Angeles personal injury attorneys take a percentage of the compensation received by their clients as their fees. At times, certain attorneys also charge their clients a separate amount for other expenses related to the case, other than their fees. The percentage amount taken from the compensation of the clients varies from lawyer to lawyer as it mainly depends on the case, its strength and most importantly, the stage at which the recovery or compensation is made. There have been innumerable personal injury cases in Los Angeles in which millions were recovered. Los Angeles personal injury attorney fees depend entirely upon the success of the case and the compensation or recovery received by the clients. The attorneys make sure that their clients win and receive maximum amount of money as compensation. This fee system benefits the clients and attorneys. The How To Guide for Six Pack Abs

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

By Ryan Cote First off, I want to mention that, for most people, getting six pack abs is not an easy task. It requires dedication, but it is possible! Below is a general 2-step guide that, if followed religiously for 3 months, will produce results. Step 1: Nutrition This is the single most important part of the puzzle, hands down. You can have the most impressive set of abs, but if they’re covered with a layer of fat, you won’t see them! Break up your day with 5 or 6 mini-meals because this jump starts your metabolism. And stop eating the food that is preventing results: white bread, loads of pasta, soda, candy, fast food, hydrogenated oils, sugars and fructose corn syrup. Instead, replace them with foods that will help you reach your goal: oatmeal, olive oil, whole grain breads, fruits, vegetables, nuts, eggs, natural peanut butter, chicken, fish, protein and water. Be realistic- you’ll slip here and there, but make a conscious effort to radically improve your eating habits because getting a six pack will be impossible if you don’t. Step 2: Exercise You need to concern yourself with 3 different exercises: cardio, weightlifting and ab exercises. And aim to workout 3- 4 times a week. The cardio you do can be anything: walking, running, biking, swimming….whichever cardio you don’t mind doing so that you’ll stick with it. Aim for 30-45 minutes, a minimum of 2 times a week. Weightlifting is important because 3 pounds of added muscle burns as many calories as a 1 mile jog…and this is while you’re just sitting around! Aim for 30-45 minutes, a minimum of 2 times a week. If you’re confused as to what exercises to do for each body part, check out out the following website. It features professional bodybuilders, but the information is great and can be used by anyone. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.htm The last exercise you need to incorporate into your workout is ab exercises. Aim to work your abs a minimum of 3 times a week. There are a ton of different ab exercises you can do so try to find 3 or so that you enjoy doing so you can mix it up. A good database of different ab exercises is: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exername.php?MainMuscle=Abdominals Tip: mix up your workout routine every 2 weeks to keep your body guessing and changing. Add or take away different weight or ab exercises, or at the very least, vary the weight, reps or form of cardio you do. Well, there you have it. Follow the above for 3 months religiously, and while results will vary from person to person, you will experience improvement. It will take dedication on your part, but imagine the feeling you’ll get when you look in the mirror and like what you see. Home Remedies For Acne And Zits

Friday, August 17th, 2007

By David Maillie Many teenagers are all too aware of what Acne is, just incase you have forgotten, or just blocked the whole experience out of your memory, acne is an inflamed skin condition. It is so damaging for the lives of teenagers because it appears as hundreds of spots on their face, and also on upper body parts. This condition does not only affect teenagers however. People think that the excess secretion of oils by the skin glands causes acne, which is actually an inflammation of the sebaceous glands and the follicles of the hair. Though almost everyone experiences some form of acne during some time of their life, acne varies in form, appearance and severity from person to person. As we have already mentioned acne is caused by the excess secretion of oil. The hormone androgen is responsible for the amount of oil secreted by our body tissues, therefore the underlying reason for acne could be an excess of androgen. Acne is categorized into different types, Juvenile Acne, Acne Vulgarias, Chronic Acne, Pickers Acne, Cosmetic and fringe Acne, Body Acne and Back Acne. Acne is not particularly threatening, it is just a skin disorder that normally clears up all by itself. Therefore it does not usually require any costly medical treatments. Most outbreaks of mild acne can be treated successfully by applying some remedies in the comfort of your own home: First you need a good Acne Cleanser, Milk of Magnesia is one such product that is available on the market. This is one of the best known cleansers that helps clear up excess oil, hopefully resolving your acne problem. The solution should be applied to the affected area, and left for around 10 minutes, then it should be rinsed off with warm water. This procedure removes any excess oil from your skin and also unclogs the pores of your skin, normally relieving most forms of mild acne. Then you should look at removing blackheads, blackheads and acne go hand in hand with one another. Removal of these black heads is a necessary step in the treatment of Acne and for this applying a product like Epsom salt could be considered. A teaspoon of Epsom salt is dissolved in some warm water, this makes a solution which should be amply applied to the affected areas using cotton wool. These solutions help in the easy removal of blackheads. Lastly you should look at preventing any infections. Acne becomes inflamed, and very sensitive to the touch. It is very important to consider the inflammation, sensitivity and tenderness of the affected areas when treating acne at home. For this add 2 to 3 drops of Tr. of Benzion in a cup of cold water, this solution should then be applied to the affected area and rinsed off with cold water. This is a well known antibacterial solution and so this effectively prevents and cures any minor infections in the affected areas. If your form of acne is serious then it is best to go to visit your doctor to get it sorted out. If you ever experience any discomfort when using any of these home remedies then it is important to stop using them and consult your doctor.
